Exclusive Oysters & Guinness Evening (incl report)

Enormous thanks to Gerry Tyrrell, our fantastic oyster-opener, who stepped in when our planned expert had to cancel due to injury.

Almost 40 people feasted on oysters, Guinness and a delicious buffet featuring Irish beef and salmon. Spirits were high and Kurre Walbom, of the Blarney Pilgrims, had no problem getting a sing-song going! Thanks again to all our sponsors and guests.

The Swedish Irish Society is thrilled to announce its first ever Oysters & Guinness event!

With the kind sponsorship of Bord Bia and Tourism Ireland, we will host an evening featuring some of the best of Irish food. A generous amount of Donegal oysters from Gallaghers, sourced and expertly handled by Irishman James Lynas of Lynasfoods AB and Guinness kindly sponsored by Guinness/Carlsberg. This will be followed by a buffet.

Included: A welcome drink, followed by a half-dozen oysters, raw on the half-shell with traditional garnishes, and a limited amount of Guinness per person. This will be followed by a cold light buffet featuring some Irish touches, and a glass of wine. Non-alcoholic alternatives will be available. The oysters being served have a retail value of over 200 kr per person.

So dig out your pearls and join us for a fantastic taste of Ireland!

Places are strictly limited and registration is now open! Swedish Irish Members can avail of an "Early bird" registration open now until the 29th September! Last day for regular registration and payment, subject to availability, is the 8th October.
