The Swedish-Irish Society is run entirely by volunteers, who give up 1000s of hours of free time each year to make our events happen, to gather and distribute information of interest to the membership, to administrate memberships and payments, and keep the torch going, as it has been doing since 1949!
The Society has never had a locale and has never had staff. Board members do not receive any fee, not even in the form of tickets to our own events.
We meet online and/or in person at least once a month. A new board is elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held usually in May. Board members are elected for 2-year terms, and deputies for 1-year terms.
