Spuds and Sill are proud to present their 2026 Spring production of " Eclipsed" by Patricia Burke Brogen.

Set in 1960s Ireland, Eclipsed follows the lives of women confined to Saint Paul’s Home for Penitent Women—sent there simply for being unmarried mothers or for circumstances beyond their control. Despite the strictness of their world, the play is filled with humour, friendship, and moments of hope as the women share dreams, banter, and small stolen joys.

Join us for a moving production celebrating resilience and sisterhood.

Irish Dance Workshop (25 Apr 2026)

Four sessions of Irish Dance classes for beginners in Göteborg organised by Maureen’s School of Irish Dance and the Swedish-Irish Society West Coast Chapter.

Saturdays from 12:00 to 13:00.

Prices:

For SIS members:

150 kr. per class

550 kr. for the four classes.

For non members:

200 kr. Per class

750 kr. For the four classes.

Payment can be made at the spot on class day, we take SWISH or Bank Transfer.

There is place where to get changed at the venue.

No previous experience needed.

Just bring comfortable clothes, light shoes or socks and a water bottle.

AGM / Årsmöte 2026 (27 Apr 2026)

The Society's Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 takes place Monday 27 April 2026 at the Embassy of Ireland in Stockholm. This year we will once again hold a hybrid AGM - we will meet in person at the Embassy in Stockholm but we will host the meeting online too. Whether you plan to attend in person or online, advance registration is required. Please register by Saturday 25 April 2026.
Proposals from members must reach the board no later than 14 days in advance of the AGM.
We are requesting that all members make a special effort to attend, both to support the work of the Society, to have an active say in how the Society is run and to shape the events and broader work that it does to support our communities. The AGM is also a wonderful chance for members to meet and spend time together, to reflect and to give the Society its annual check-up!
What happens at the AGM
At the AGM, the Board will report back to the members on what has been done during the previous year, the activities that have taken place and how money has been used. The auditor will present her report and the Board will answer questions and discuss event ideas for the coming year.The relevant formal documents including the annual accounts and the annual activity report will be available for review in the members-only section of the website in advance:

Elections
Elections will be held for Board positions. Regular positions are held for 2 years, and deputy positions are 1-year posts.
Eligibility and registration
Active ( i.e. paid-up members, not lapsed) members are eligible to attend, and members who have joined/renewed more than 30 days prior to the meeting may vote. Kind regards
