Travelling to Ireland

By Air

-  have many flights and destinations in Sweden. Ryanair fly between Dublin and Skavsta most days, and also between Gothenburg and Dublin. Prices when booked on the Internet can be extremely low!

- SAS fly daily direct to Dublin from Stockholm, as well as Oslo and Copenhagen, often with very good special prices.

Aer Lingus - have nonstop flights from Copenhagen to Dublin most days, with many cheap rates available.
This should be good news for members in the south of Sweden.

By Sea

This alternative takes longer, but is necessary if you want to take your own car.
There are no direct sea links from Sweden to Ireland, and the only car ferry from Gothenburg to England was discontinued in September 2006. This means that you need to drive either to Norway or Denmark (or further) to take a ferry to England.  From England there are several car ferries to Ireland:

Irish Ferries (tel. 040-210050) operate between Holyhead and Dublin, and between Pembroke and Rosslare.

Stena Line (tel. 08-141475 and 031-7753030) operate between Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire (just south of Dublin), between Fishguard and Rosslare, and between Stranraer and Larne.

Swansea Cork Ferries operate between Swansea and Cork.
